The good airport should provide as many useful services is it can for the airport customers.
ReplyDeleteStarting with the passenger, the airport should provide a lot of parking lots, a good security all over the airport, information desks and accessible terminals by public transportation.
Comfortable concourses are important too, such as duty free shops, spas, coffee shops and other services that passengers can benefit from.
The airline companies should be provided with special facilities, a runway that is where aircraft take off and land on it and it should be maintained daily and always in a good condition and without forgetting the basic routine services such as refuelling, de-icing and cleaning the aircraft well. For example, London Heathrow airport (LHR) always makes sure that both the airlines and the passengers are satisfied with their airport support services.
As for the air freight companies, such as FedEx and DHL, they have to be provided with a space for loading and unloading cargo. Airports also needs to have a special cargo terminal where hundreds of thousands of tonnes of freight are processed every day.
In conclusion to meet their customers’ expectations, airports try to offer superior services.
Airports need to provide both facilities and services for passengers, passenger airlines and air freight companies. Let’s start with the biggest group of airport customers which are the passengers. Passengers benefit from a number of facilities and service a lot of parking places which are accessible by road and public transportation, also terminals which include ticketing areas, accessible check-in areas at the airport. Secondly, it is security. Finally the comfortable concourse areas which are very important places at the airport. For example they can provide many facilities and services to have most comfortable concourses for the passengers, for business passengers they can provide a free WIFI internet, and for disable passengers they can provide an electronic gate for them with special chairs. So, passengers are the biggest customer group of the airport.

There are some of facilities to provide passengers airlines, like runways, a control tower, hangars and a fuel depot. On the other hand, there are services airports need to provide, such as routine maintenance that means regular upkeep, refueling, gate rental and runway maintenance which is keeping the road or the way that the aircraft go on it clear, so the aircraft can take off and land safely. These are some of facilities and services that need to be provided with.
Last is air Freight Company that also need to be provided with facilities from airport. Air Freight Company which means the main airport that carriers goods. There are some of the facilities that should be provided, like they need space for loading and unloading cargo that will help aircraft in landing and taking off, special cargo terminals and also equipment. Airports need to provide a lot of services and facilities to meet their customers’ needs. The biggest number of customers is the passenger and passengers benefit from a numbers of facilities and services. They need parking lots that are accessible by road and pubic transportation, also they need terminals with accessible check-in areas and the most important that they need is security so, the airports need to maintain a high level of security. Finally air-freight companies a space for loading and unloading cargo, these companies that transport goods only so, they need a special cargo terminal and special equipment and examples of air –freight companies are UPS, DHL and Martinair. Passengers benefit from a number of facilities and services that airport provide like parking lots , accessible by road and public transportation because of the large amount of passengers who travel nowadays . Airports need to maintain high security to make travelers feel safe . Also one of facilities is terminal to make check in easy . The airport has to take care of passengers who may have disabilities such as employees to take them in or out of the aircraft.
Another important thing is the concourse it is better to be large and has restaurants, duty free shops , free wireless and for the children playgrounds .
Another customer that airports have to provide some services is airlines and we can divide the airlines in passenger airlines and air- freight companies. There is a list of facilities they need for example runways for take off and landing , control tower to give important information to the flight crew . Also airlines need hangar to keep aircraft that isn’t used and fuel depot for aircraft fuel storage.
Other important services are routine maintenance, refuelling and gate rental. For air freight companies airports need to provide a space for loading and unloading cargo and a cargo terminal. All these services need to be done efficiently because of the substantial number of flight s a day. For example in ATL airport there are 2400 flights every day and airports need to process the passengers well.
